Sorry I have been a bit quiet of late, but we have been packing for the big move and sorting out my office was a nightmare. I have given away, I reckon, about 2000 books, about 20 cameras, several lenses and other bits of photo gear as well as all sorts of stuff being binned. For example, a box with three bits of log in it went on the fire because it was not going to get shipped and I didn’t have time to sell them, the catch? They were boxwood, rare as hen’s teeth and perfect for turning tool handles. I also make tools if anyone wants 1 to 1 tuition making a plane?.
On the day the movers screwed up and instead of getting away at lunchtime and having a hotel in France we had to stay an extra night in Sheffield, ut we finally got here. Both knackered, Sue, who drove all the way as well as packing stuff, was amazing. It was a red day on the roads in France as it was the start of a holiday period. We actually saw a traffic jam! We had a hotel about half way in Evreux and got here mid-day Saturday. Now we just have to wait two weeks for our stuff to arrive in France.
Just before we left, I took some final images of Sheffield and thought I would share them with you here. Larger versions can be seen on my Facebook page where there are explanations of some of the images. Actually, as is true of most of my images, if you want to play with the RAW file just let me know and I’ll send you a link for the original file. Some of them are joiners and so involve more than one file. They were mostly taken with a Nikon D810, so are around 43MB per image. If you want to try the four image joiner the Photoshop file is 2.96GB which is just about doable on my Core i5 Toshiba laptop with 8GB ram. I am using the laptop because while my main PC is here (Quad Core i7, 32GB ram, 256GB ssd, 1TB HD and BenQ screen), its screen, keyboard, mouse and calibrator are all in transit.
